The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign begins this Friday in Flin Flon. Organizer Sherry Trudeau says the kettles raise money to support their programs. She explains due to COVID they are anticipating an increase to the number of hampers this year. She says the money collected through the kettles is used for family services noting approximately two thirds of that money is used for Christmas hampers with the rest used throughout the year for family services needs such as clothing vouchers, soup days, etc.
The kettles will be out at the Co-op, Walmart and RBC every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until December 24th with physical distancing in effect. Trudeau adds they are in need of people to ring the bells at the kettles this year so if you can give them an hour of your time call the Salvation Army at 204-687-7812.
