Over Two Hundred People are in Hospital as COVID-19 Numbers Continue to Climb in Manitoba While Saskatchewan Has Low Numbers in Hospital.

Manitoba Public Health reported this afternoon 383 new cases of COVID-19 in the province.  They also reported five deaths with four in the Winnipeg Health Region and one in Southern Health with deaths now totaling 114.  Of the new cases 216 are in the Winnipeg Health Region, 83 in Southern Health, 41 in Northern Health, 26 in Interlake Eastern and 18 in Prairie Mountain Health Region.  Of the total 8878 confirmed cases 5390 are active, 3374 individuals have recovered and 207 people are in hospital with 30 in intensive care.

             

Meanwhile Saskatchewan Health reported 127 new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon. The largest numbers are in Saskatoon with 50, Regina 31, North West 11 and smaller numbers in other zones including 6 in the Far North East.  Of the total 4214 cases reported 1305 are considered active, 2880 people have recovered with 44 in hospital and11 in intensive care.  The province’s health minister says the health system can handle the increased cases with low numbers in hospital.
