Domestic Violence Prevention, History and Conduct were Part of a City Council Meeting.

At the Flin Flon City Council meeting Tuesday night Mayor Cal Huntley officially declared November as Domestic Violence Prevention Month.  The declaration notes domestic violence affects everyone, children, youth, individuals, families and the community and it has immediate and long term consequences that can include serious mental and physical effects, the inability to function in society, financial turmoil and death commending its thoughtful observance to all citizens.

Council received a letter from the Flin Flon Heritage Project asking for funding to upgrade their website in order to incorporate more support for mobile smart devices.  The site has operated for six years now gathering the story of Flin Flon and making that story available to everyone through the use of their website. The letter was referred to the social and recreation committee and finance.

And Council passed on final reading a bylaw required by the Municipal Act to establish a code of conduct that applies to members of Council.  Part of it notes to promote public confidence and trust the City of Flin Flon is committed to fostering and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct among its Council members.
