Manitoba is Taking Action to Reinforce Public Health Orders.

Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister announced the government is increasing the fine amounts for those who fail to comply with public health and emergency orders.  He say effective immediately the new fines for those who disregard or fail to comply with public health and emergency orders are for individuals 1296 dollars up from 486 dollars and for corporations 5 thousand dollars noting it was about half that much at 2542 dollars.

             

The government will also increase enforcement of these orders through the RCMP and other police agencies, the Health Protection Unit, Manitoba Conservation and Climate, Workplace Safety and Health and the Liquor Gaming and Cannabis Authority.  They are also working to amend existing provincial regulations to enable municipal bylaw enforcement officers to enforce public health and emergency orders.
