COVID-19 Was a Topic of Discussion at the Flin Flon City Council Meeting Last Night.

Councillor Tim Babcock reported the Bombers are back in action at the Whitney Forum this week.  He said they are limited to 150 fans for now and have a lot of protocols to put in place so he’s asking people to be patient.  Mayor Cal Huntley asks you to please adhere to the rules at the Forum allowing hockey to move forward.

Councillor Ken Pawlachuk reported the Blueberry Jam committee is working on live streaming local musicians to replace winter concerts and the Flin Flon Arts Council is working on putting the annual Arts and Crafts Sale online as well.

With the increase in COVID cases in northern areas Mayor Huntley said we are going to follow our existing strategy here until there’s an obvious need to change it and that is taking the provincial lead following the rules they recommend.  He added if there’s a situation that’s unique they will look at it from a Flin Flon perspective.  He urges everyone to follow the rules regarding hand washing, social distancing and mask wearing and if everyone does that we may not have to deal with an outbreak.
