Bars, Nightclubs and a Prince Albert Event Have Led To Several New Cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Health reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday and 18 Sunday.  The northern cases include six in the Far North East, one in Far North West, four in North West, three in North East and 14 in North Central zone.  This afternoon they reported 66 new cases with 25 in Saskatoon, 17 in North Central, 8 in Regina, four in North West, three each in Far North West and Far North East, two each in Central West and Central East and one each in North East and South West Zones.  Saskatoon’s cases are primarily linked with outbreaks at local bars or nightclubs and additional cases are expected to be reported.  The Gospel Worship event in Prince Albert has been connected to 86 of the first and second generation cases in 17 different communities and public health investigation notes an estimated 450 contacts.

             

Of the 2369 cases reported 398 are considered active, 1973 people have recovered and 18 are in hospital.
