Deaths Related to COVID-19 Have Now Topped Forty in Manitoba.

Manitoba Public Health reported 85 new cases Saturday and 44 Sunday. That includes 93 in Winnipeg and six in the Northern Health Region.  There were two deaths reported in the Winnipeg Region Sunday, a man and a woman both in their 70s from the Winnipeg Region.  Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin reported this afternoon the 41st and 42nd deaths related to COVID-19 a women in her 80s and a man in his 70s both from the Winnipeg Health Region and linked to the Heritage Lodge outbreak.  He reported 80 new cases.  There are four in Interlake Eastern, five cases in Northern Health, six cases in Prairie Mountain Health, fourteen in Southern Health and 51 cases in Winnipeg Health Region.  He added there’s 1743 active cases, 1597 individuals have recovered and 28 people are in hospital with six in intensive care.

             

Roussin again emphasizes the need for Manitobans to reduce the number of contacts outside of their households.
