The Number of New Cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba Has Dropped From Earlier This Week.

Manitoba Public Health reported this afternoon 75 new cases of COVID-19 in the province. Sixty-three of the cases are in the Winnipeg Health Region, seven in the Interlake Eastern Health Region, two each in the Northern and Southern Health Regions and one in Prairie Mountain Health Region.  Of the total 3173 reported cases 1582 are considered active, 1553 individuals have recovered and 25 are in hospital with five in intensive care.

Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin strongly encourages Manitobans to reduce the number of close contacts outside their household and avoid closed in or crowded spaces. The YWCA in Thompson continues to be at the critical level under the Manitoba Pandemic Response System.

New restrictions in Winnipeg for a two week period starting Monday include gatherings limited to five people reduced from ten, beverage rooms, entertainment facilities, casinos and bingo halls are closed and restaurants and retail businesses are reduced to 50 percent capacity.
