COVID-19 Case Numbers Spiked in Both Manitoba and Saskatchewan Over the Long Weekend.

Manitoba Public Health reported 97 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, 54 on Sunday and 77 on Monday.  The largest number of new cases is in the Winnipeg Health Region along with four reported deaths. There were six reported cases in the Northern Health Region with four active cases reported in the Thompson Mystery Lake District.  Of the total 2655 reported cases in the province 1131 are considered active, 1490 people have recovered, 25 people are in hospital with four in intensive care and deaths related to COVID-19 total 34.

             

Saskatchewan reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, 24 on Sunday with one related death and 48 on Monday. Several of the new northern cases had links to the Gospel Outreach outbreak in Prince Albert.  There is also an increase in cases linked to public and private social gatherings in the home or other venues.

Of the 2140 reported cases 215 are considered active, 19 hundred people have recovered, eight are in hospital with one in intensive care with 25 related deaths.
