This is Fire Prevention Week.  Fire Chief Jason Kuras outlines this year’s fire statistics.  He says the statistics show that this year has seen an increase in the number of motor vehicle collisions.  He encourages all motorists to please be careful and drive according to road conditions and not speed limits.  He adds they have also seen an increase from last year in residential fires.  He notes fire safety is everyone’s responsibility, we must ensure we are being safe at home and have taken precautions to eliminate as many fire risks as possible.  He concludes Flin Flon Fire Department members have done an amazing job responding to all incidents so with great people and quick responses they have limited damage and avoided any total loss residential fires this year.
