You Can Learn About Some of Our Most Famous Citizens During a Cemetery Tour Sunday Afternoon.

As part of Culture Days Flin Flon historian Gerry Clark will be offering his Cemetery Tour Sunday afternoon.  Clark says he picked out 40 grave markers at Hillside Cemetery picking out people who were significant in one way or another to the community, people who were community leaders for example, people who were in the middle of tragedies like for example probably the most famous Flin Flon story is Walter Sedor and his dad and the pilot of a plane that went down near Tartan Lake. He adds there’s a story that is often told by old timers or was anyway about John Diefenbaker getting his first case in Creighton where he defended a murderer or an accused murders and there’s some pretty funny stories too.

The tour runs from 1 to 2:30 Sunday afternoon.  You can pre-register at the Flin Flon Arts Council office, by phone, by email to flinflonartscouncil@gmail.com or send a message on the Flin Flon Culture Days Facebook page.  Mask wearing is mandatory, practice physical distancing and contact information will be collected for contact tracing.
