A 20th Death Related to COVID-19 Has Been Reported in Manitoba.

Over Saturday and Sunday Manitoba Public Health reported 116 new cases of COVID-19 with 92 of them in Winnipeg.  Two were on the eastern side of the Northern Health Region.  This Afternoon Dr. Brent Roussin reported 39 new cases bringing the total number of cases in Manitoba to 1919 and also reporting an additional death related to COVID-19, a man in his 70s from Prairie Mountain Health Region bringing the total number of deaths to 20.  He noted there are seven cases in Interlake East, seven in Northern Health Region, three in Southern Health and 22 cases in Winnipeg Health Region.

             

The seven cases in the Northern Health Region are connected to a family on the York Landing First Nation where the mother became infected during a medical trip to Winnipeg.

             

Of the total reported 618 cases are active, 1281 individuals have recovered, 13 are in hospital with seven in intensive care with deaths now at 20.
