Community Outreach and Keeping Community Events Supported Were Goals Set Out at an Annual Meeting.

The Flin Flon Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation held their annual meeting Monday night.  Chair Mark Kolt reported their main focus in 2019-20 was in the areas of homelessness including involvement with the Everyone Deserves a Home housing group and the Friendship Centers DIY Tenant Education Project. The Corporation approved ten of the eleven Small Grant applications submitted this year with a total of just over 29 thousand dollars approved but only just over 23 thousand was actually spent.

The Small Grants supported Culture Days, the Main ART-ery Street Festival and Banner Project, the Trout Festival, the NorVa Visting Artist Exhibition, Blueberry Jam Music Gathering and Culture Days.  The Corporation also supported downtown revitalization projects, the Flowers on Main Street Project and Women’s Safe Haven Renovations.

Kolt noted they are planning to do more community outreach and working to find ways to address community priorities in a way that is consistent with slowing the spread of the pandemic with input from the community.
