A New Leader Will Work to Transform Health in Northern Manitoba.

Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin or KIM Inc. has announced the appointment of Dr. Barry Lavallee as CEO.

In place as Medical Advisor since May 2019, Dr. Lavallee provided much needed clinical and systems expertise at a time when Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak was taking significant steps towards the establishment of a new northern First Nations led health transformation entity. KIM was established by the MKO Chiefs Task Force on Health during their Assembly on Health in January of 2020.

Chief Larson Anderson of Norway House Cree Nation and Chair of KIM’s Chiefs Task Force on Health stated

this appointment solidifies our ambition to become leaders in Health Transformation for the north. We trust him to set in motion what we know is needed – First Nations community led health transformation.

Dr. Barry Lavallee responded  by noting he is pleased to accept the opportunity to make a long-term positive impact on the health and well-being of First Nations citizens living in Northern Manitoba.
