Flin Flon Joins Other Manitoba Schools in Receiving Support to Ensure Safe and Healthy Learning Environments.

Manitoba Education Minister Kelvin Goertzen has announced the province has shared with school divisions details about the per-pupil money flowing from the Safe Schools funding. Flin Flon School Division with 987 students will receive just over 152 thousand dollars for the 2020-21 school year.

Of the 52 million dollars made available 21 million is estimated for mask and personal protective equipment, 32 million for school divisions and independent schools to access a per-pupil maximum and 8 million to address serious and urgent health and safety measures over and above the school division allocation. The focused funding will also be used to directly support schools, teachers and students with enhanced cleaning and sanitization including more supplies and custodian staff, increased bus transportation capacity, technology related costs and ensuring substitute teachers are available.
