Canadians donated just over 662 thousand shoe boxes packed with toys, hygiene items and school supplies during the 2012 Operation Christmas Child shoe box campaign. As we reported in November over 200 of those boxes came from the Flin Flon Creighton area.
Operation Christmas Child staff, volunteers and partners are now distributing these shoe boxes in the developing world. Canadian Director Randy Crosson notes each shoe box is an opportunity to show these children, who likely have never before received a gift, that they are loved by God and by generous Canadians from coast to coast.
Since 1993 Samaritan’s Purse has collected and hand delivered more than 100 million shoe box gifts to children in over 130 countries hurt by war, poverty, natural disaster, disease and famine.
