The War Amps are continuing their key tag campaign this year, but they advise Manitobans they might get their tags a little later than expected.

Program Director Rob Larman says it’s too soon to say when the key tags will arrive at their destinations due to things changing day-to-day with the COVID-19 updates from across the country.

However, Larman explains he’s confident that the War Amps will be able to return to their key tag service within the next couple of weeks, with the necessary measures in place to ensure physical distancing.

He says the War Amps continue to support amputees during this time as they continue to make available to amputees information on coping with amputation and financial assistance to amputees as well.  He notes right now what they’re trying to focus on during these challenging times is beefing up the amount of information they have available on their social platform so that people can reach out to them and they can continue to communicate with them and provide the much needed support as they deal with the difficulties associated with amputation.

The War Amps have returned over 1.5 million sets of keys to their owners since they started the key service over 70 years ago to support returning war amputee veterans.
