As COVID-19 Numbers Remain Low Manitoba is Moving Forward in Lifting Some Restrictions as Another Death is Reported in Saskatchewan.

Manitoba Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin announced the latest COVID-19 numbers this afternoon.  He reported there are no new cases so the total number of cases remains at 290, one individual is currently in hospital and no one is in ICU, 260 individuals are listed as recovered and there are 23 active cases.

             

Roussin also announced portions of the Phase Two reopening plan can now be implemented.  As of this Friday public health orders will be modified to increase the limit on gathering size to no more than 25 people for indoor premises and 50 for outdoor areas providing social distancing measures are in place.  Other changes such as expansion of the types of businesses that can reopen are being discussed and more details will be announced when those decisions are made.

 

             

Saskatchewan reports a seventh COVID-19 related death a resident of the North region in their 60s bringing the total number of deaths to seven.  The province has 21 new confirmed cases bringing the total to 620 with 16 of the new cases in the La Loche and Beauval regions.  120 cases are considered active and 24 more people have recovered bringing that total to 494.
