Requests Dominated the Flin Flon City Council Meeting Last night.

Council received a request from the Flin Flon Trout Festival Committee for permission to use certain streets for the July 1st parade.  To meet COVID-19 guidelines it will be a parade of cars and trucks that will travel throughout numerous streets in order to allow people to watch while remaining closer to home and in small family groups. The theme would be Appreciation of Front Line Workers. It was referred to the social and recreation committee.

Council referred to the finance committee an application from Jason and Kenda Kozar on behalf of the class of 2020 parents for Municipal Funding to cover the cost of 52 banners with the grads pictures to be hung on the light posts along Main Street to remind residents of the accomplishments of our graduates this year.

And Mayor Cal Huntley expressed condolences on behalf of Flin Flon and region on the death of Captain Jennifer Casey in the Snowbird’s jet crash on the weekend noting the close connection between the Snowbirds and our community following their air shows here in 2016 and 18.
