Social Distancing Will Be Part of Fishing Season This Year.

The 2020-21 fishing season officially kicks off Saturday across the northern division of Manitoba.  You are reminded that when outside it is still important to practice social distancing according to COVID-19 public health guidelines.

The Manitoba government has launched its new online service for the sale of outdoor licenses and permits including angling licenses.  All anglers are required to obtain an angling license to fish in Manitoba unless exempt.  They are now available 24 hours a day seven days a week and can be purchased and printed at home by going to www.manitobalicensing.ca. They can also be purchased at some sporting goods and hardware stores, fishing centers and lodges.

Anglers can also become familiar with Manitoba fishing regulations by referring to the 2020 Manitoba Anglers’ Guide at www.manitobafisheries.com and the province will again be operating watercraft inspection stations to help watercraft users be compliant with aquatic invasive species requirements.
