Council received the Fire Chiefs Report for April indicating four incidents.  They included assisting EMS on two occasions, a structure fire at 179 Centre Street with all damage contained to the home at a total loss and assisting the Creighton Fire Department at a fire that destroyed a duplex at 458 Elander Avenue.

Council passed on final reading a bylaw to adopt provisions of the Manitoba Emergency Measures Act and adopt the updated City of Flin Flon Emergency Plan with minor changes.

Council will request a meeting with the Northern Health Region to gather more information on the closure of the operating rooms at Flin Flon General Hospital.

Council received a letter from the local Everyone Deserves a Home Community Committee expressing their concerns about our homeless, houseless community members and access to public washrooms. They suggested the use of the Whitney Forum public washrooms as it would be able to accommodate physical distancing space and a waiting area. Council stated given the facilities are closed right now, given that the people couldn’t be managed and you couldn’t manage the hours properly that is not a facility that could be used for that circumstance.
