Manitoba Chamber of Commerce President Chuck Davidson spoke with Arctic Radio about the reopening of some businesses in the province.

Davidson says that just because small businesses are allowed to reopen doesn’t mean that they are required to do so.  He explains this is basically allowing small business to open but some of the things that they’re concerned with re-opening is that obviously it’s done in a safe manner and there’s going to be new precautionary measures that are put in place by the Public Health Officer with regards to the number of people in the establishment, making sure that you’re continuing to follow the key health protocols by having protective equipment in your facility, making sure you have hand sanitizer and all those different things

.Davidson believes that Manitobans have done a good job taking this pandemic seriously and he wants to remind business owners not to cut corners, take necessary precautions, and follow the rules so that we can reopen more businesses as we move forward and reduce the chances of a second wave of the virus that would bring us back to square one.
