Applications are being taken for the Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program. Communications Director Keith Teffry explains the program offers scholarships to 20 graduating high school students. He says any student that is going on to a post secondary education is welcome to apply for this scholarship. He adds the scholarship is a five thousand dollar grant they can use towards the first year of their education at a university or college. As for eligibility Teffry says what they are looking for is students who have done environmental work in their schools or in the broader community.
In addition to the scholarship the national winner receives a Panasonic notebook computer.
You can apply by visiting their web site at www.earthday.ca/scholarship. The deadline is February 15th.
