Testing for COVID-19 Will Expand in Manitoba.

Manitoba Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin says they have developed a priority list that will expand as their capacity for testing for COVID-19 increases.  He says some of those priority lists would include any symptomatic health care workers regardless of travel, anybody symptomatic in a closed area such a long term care facilities regardless of travel and then as they move down that list it should be just any community individuals with symptoms but he notes remember there’s a lot of focus on testing but testing is not the only answer here, if we have someone in the community right now who is ill the advice is to stay home.

Roussin adds if you stay home you are drastically decreasing the chances of transmitting the virus.  If you have flu like symptoms and have related travel call Health Links at 1-888-315-9257 to be referred for testing.
