Flin Flon City Council met last night from a variety of locations using Zoom.

Regarding the COVID-19 precautions Mayor Cal Huntley stated they are trying to handle things as best they can from a community point of view with the closure of public facilities and provincially they are trying to keep up to speed with what is going on.  He said his biggest concern is we all have family and friends who are not home yet.  He advises everyone to take the recommendations being offered on health care seriously as we really want to nip this in the bud so be safe and go to the government website for accurate information.

            

In business Council passed on final reading several bylaws that result in the approval of their 2020 financial plan. Council referred to Engineering Services a letter from the Main Street Revitalization Task Force requesting a discussion on how sidewalks are cleared. They approved a one thousand dollar grant to the 2020 Fireworks Committee and approved a proposal for services from Expert Electrical for a lighting assessment for the Main Street business core at a cost of 3 thousand dollars. Council also received the Fire Chief’s report for February indicating four calls, a structure fire, a false alarm, a garbage can fire and a motor vehicle accident.
