With three presumptive cases of the novel corona virus in Manitoba the province's Chief Public Health Officer says the have been preparing for a quick response to the virus.

.  Doctor Brent Roussin says the province has been planning for potential COVID-19 cases at the regional and community level and has taken northern, rural and remote communities into account when planning for a potential outbreak.

             

He explains the incidents management structure is a provincial wide planning structure and also includes First Nations and Indigenous involvement so they were planning at the regional and the community levels in various plans and sharing information as well as working on things such as patient transport should it be necessary so it’s a provincial wide plan at the incident management structure so it is taking in all the regions including the remote isolated communities.

             

Roussin adds the government is in communication with the Northern Health Region regarding the virus.
