Ashton asked the government about supporting First Nations concerned about the Coronavirus.  She said they advise regular hand washing but how do you do that without running water, they advise self isolation impossible with the housing crisis of 12 to 20 people living in a house and in places like the Island Lake region or Cross Lake thousands of people and no hospital in site adding people are worried so can a regular member of the Prime Minister’s Coronavirus Committee please stand up and tell us that they’re doing to ensure Inuit and First Nations communities are supported now.

Indigenous Services Minister Marc Miller noted in budget 2019 they included 79 million dollars over five years to improve and prepare support of health emergencies on reserves and are ready to act and support those communities.
