Midnight next Friday is the deadline to nominate people or events for the Northern Manitoba Tourism Awards. Senior Manager with Travel Manitoba Tracy Dandeneau explains there are five categories for nominations including the Award of Distinction which is an ambassador award, the Event of The Year, Indigenous Tourism, Innovation of the Year and also Partnership of the Year. She adds if there’s somebody in the communities that you want to brag about or somebody who perhaps put on an great event or a favorite attraction, it could be somebody that someone has worked with and they fall into those categories, anybody who went above and beyond to make sure these events were a success.
You can nominate a person or event online at www.manitobatourismawards.awardsplatform.com. The awards dinner will be held April 15th at the River Lodge Place in Thompson. Flin Flon’s Blueberry Jam Music Gathering won last year for event of the year.
