In Question Period last week Ashton noted the reality on First Nations is getting worse reporting this week a seven year old boy died in a house fire in Garden Hill a community with third world housing, no running water no all weather road in a region of 13 thousand people without a hospital.  She asked when is this government going to recognize that systemic racism and under funding is killing people adding when is this minister going to ask to ensure justice for the Knott family and for Indigenous communities across this country.

Indigenous Services Minister Marc Miller replied his department has been in contact with the First Nations leadership to identify and deliver support to ensure the well being of the community and will continue to work with First Nations partners.
