Expanding Community Involvement Was Part of an Annual Meeting.

The Flin Flon Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation held their annual meeting last night.  Chair Mark Kolt presented a report of their activities for the past year. Their small grants program supported Culture Days, Northern Juried Art Show, Trout Festival and Blueberry Jam Music Gathering.  Their biggest event was the first Flower Power Festival and they continued Flowers on Main Street with 60 flower pots on Main Street and at City Hall and the Station Museum.  In the future they plan to continue these Flower events as well as do more community outreach, get the word out on what they are doing and help more local groups access funding.  They are also going to play a role in helping to develop some affordable housing in the community, to work together with youth groups and do more with community events in general such as Culture Days, the Trout Festival, Flinty’s Birthday and other cultural events and would like to make Pioneer Square a more happening place in the summer by staging concerts and other events on a regular basis.
