The PCs Are Looking Forward to the Election in a Long Time NDP Riding.

Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister joined local Progressive Conservative candidate Theresa Wride for a lunch at Pioneer Square Friday.  Pallister said he has confidence in the Flin Flon riding with Theresa for the upcoming provincial election as she is well known in the community, well respected, well liked and he thinks that’s the key.  He said he also thinks he wouldn’t want to be an NDP candidate this time because they’re backing this big carbon tax that’s going to make it harder on people in the north and rural communities. The second thing he adds is the NDP are running on higher taxes, they don’t want the PST to come down.  He says he believe that taxes should be lowered and they’re promoting tourism and economic development in the north and he thinks we’ve got some good opportunities coming forward here.

Pallister added they reduced the PST one point and are taking the PST off home insurance leaving a little more on the kitchen table which is key to a lot of families.
