An Application is Going in to Increase Water and Sewer Service Rates.

At their meeting last night Flin Flon City Council gave first reading to a bylaw to establish rates to be charged for water and sewer services.  They will be applying to the Public Utilities Board for example for an increase for unmetered service of three percent in 2020 and 2.5 percent in both 2021 and 2022.  This is due to increased costs for such things as labor, consumption and hydro rates.

Mayor Cal Huntley and Council congratulated the Trout Festival Committee on the success of the Festival weekend also noting the impressive fireworks display.

Council reminds residents if you have a concern or complaint about something in the community there are proper procedures to follow.  Appropriate numbers are available on their website, the City page in the Reminder or contact City Hall if those sources don’t set you on the right track

And they received a letter from Indigenous and Northern Relations thanking the City, the Fire Department and Fire Chief Chad Cooper for their support of the Northern Lights Fire Training Program assisting their volunteer fire departments in increasing their ability to provide fire protection services to their communities.
