Flin Flon School Division Will Have a New Superintendent.

The Flin Flon School Board met Tuesday night and it was announced that current Superintendent Constance McCleese will be retiring at the end of July.  Assistant Superintendent Tammy Ballantyne will take over the vacant position.  It was also announced that the Division will recognize Pride Week from June 24th to 28th.  For the first time the Pride flag will be raised at Ruth Betts School on the morning of Monday June 24th.

             

In her report Board Chair Leslie Fernandes congratulated student Jarek Osika who earlier this month was at the University of New Brunswick participating in the Canada Wide Science Fair.  His project Radio Eyes Black Hole Hunter was awarded the Canadian Association of Physics Honor.  Fernandes also mentioned a recent event that took place at McIsaac School May 24th which was the celebration of 35 years of the French Immersion Program in Flin Flon.
