The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce will hold economic development tours in The Pas and Opaskwayak Cree Nation on April 24th and the 25th. Their President and CEO Chuck Davidson explains this is an initiative that they undertook last summer and over the course of the next 18 months they’re going to be doing six economic development tours of northern Manitoba communities. He says they really want to provide an opportunity for business people from the southern part of the province and Winnipeg to come to The Pas and OCN and look at what some of those opportunities are going to be. Davidson adds they bring 25 business people to The Pas and OCN and over the course of the two days will set up tours and meetings for people that are looking at doing business in the area to provide a better understanding of what business opportunities exist. The Chamber’s schedule calls for them to be in Flin Flon in October.
