A Northern Manitoba Member of the Legislature Wants to Represent Our Federal Riding.

The MLA for the provincial riding of Keewatinook Judy Klassen has filed her papers to seek the nomination for the Federal Liberal Party in Churchill Keewatinook-Aski.  The riding has been held by NDP Member of Parliament Niki Ashton since 2008.

Klassen is originally from the First Nations Community of St. Theresa Point.  She says the continued commitment to the north by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the federal government is crucial in both achieving more Truth and Reconciliation initiatives as well as building our northern economy. Klassen adds the time of the Ashton family representation in the north is over and now is the time for representation and leadership that can get results for the north.
