The Flin Flon Rotary Club held their 5th annual Flinty Fishing Derby Sunday at Bakers Narrows. 468 People entered the derby with 35 prizes totaling around 90 thousand dollars with 31 fish caught.
The top five winners all with northern pike were Morganna Senyk of Flin Flon first with 100 centimeters receiving 25 thousand dollars cash, second Shelly Yeo of Flin Flon 99.5 centimeters receiving a 14 foot Lund boat with motor and trailer, third Theresa Wride of Flin Flon with 93 centimeters receiving a Polaris Quad, fourth Bobby Smith of Flin Flon 92 centimeters receiving a fly in fishing package for four and fifth was Darnell Francoeur of The Pas 83.5 centimeters receiving Calm Air tickets for two. The top combination winner taking part in this derby and the Bill Bannock derby in The Pas Saturday was Dustin Dorion of The Pas with three fish totaling 164 centimeters winning 25 hundred dollars and the hidden fish prize of 25 hundred dollars went to Bobby Smith of Flin Flon.
The derby ran from 11 to 2 Sunday with the first fish caught one minute into the derby.
