April 10th is the deadline to nominate people or events for the Northern Manitoba Tourism Awards. The President and CEO of Travel Manitoba Colin Ferguson says there are a lot of things happening in the north. He explains there are five categories Innovation of the Year Award, Indigenous Tourism Award, Event of the Year Award, Partnership Award and an Award of Distinction for an ambassador in the area. He says self-nomination for tourism related businesses are also welcome and they’re confidential so if you believe that you’ve got a great product and nobody has nominated you, you can nominate yourself and nominations can be made in more than one category as long as the criteria for each category is met.
You can nominate a person or event online at www.manitobatourismawards.awardsplatform.com. The awards dinner will be held April 24th at the Kikiwak Inn in The Pas.
