Community Futures Greenstone Manager Becky Cianflone reminded Chamber members of the annual Infusion Entrepreneurship Conference October 29th. She noted it’s to grow innovation and entrepreneurship in the north under the theme Dare to Do and is open to businesses, people in leadership roles and anyone else interested. Greenstone also has their annual Cardboard Challenge coming up October 13th for all ages where teams of 3 to 5 people are challenged to build cardboard creations. We’ll have more on these events on upcoming newscasts.
Past President Dianne Russell reported on the recent Northern Chambers meeting held recently in Flin Flon with presentations from the Manitoba Chambers on Look North and support for northern Chambers and UCN on what they can offer businesses in the north. She added the biggest focus of the afternoon roundtable was uniting the voices of northern Chambers from Churchill to Swan River to get the attention of the provincial government.
The Chamber will be writing to the provincial Boundaries Commission asking that the boundaries of Flin Flon constituency remain where they are instead of combining it with The Pas riding.
