Superintendent Constance McCleese reported teaching staff from all schools in the Division will be attending ELA training this month in The Pas.  The courses are conveniently held in The Pas to avoid flying to Winnipeg as staff from Kelsey and Swan Valley School Divisions will also be taking part in the ongoing training sessions hosted by members from the Ministry of Education.  Teaching staff from Flin Flon Division will also be participating in early literacy assessment training here in October, part of ongoing training from the Ministry of Education.  Staff have also been reviewing accessibility training this month provided by the Rick Hanson Foundation.

The French Immersion video conferencing system is up and working.  The Division has received a letter from the Ministry of Education proclaiming the week of September 17 to 21 as School Support Staff Week in Manitoba.  McCleese stated the Division is fortunate to have hard working EAs and Maintenance staff that continue to do an excellent job.
