The 21 Field Engineer Squadron Historical Committee Recognition Ceremony was held Friday at the Wekusko Falls suspension bridge site. Part of the ceremony involved a tribute to those who participated in the suspension bridge project in 1965 and have since passed on conducted by committee member Frank Gira and Father Paul Bringleson.

The Committee’s Morley Naylor reports representatives of the Sustainable Development Parks and Regional Services out of The Pas were on hand and Gira presented District Park Supervisor Rodney Forbes with an appreciation plaque consisting of a Canadian Military Engineers Badge with other details. Forbes thanked retired 21 Field Engineer Squadron personnel on hand for the original commitment the Squadron undertook in the construction project and repair missions over the years.  The new signage at the site supplied by Sustainable Development includes a Canadian Military Engineer Badge, Engineer Prayer and an historical update regarding the suspension bridges.
