The Fines Are Now In Effect.

 

 

At their meeting last night Flin Flon City Council passed on final reading an amendment to the smoking bylaw. It sets the fines for people who smoke within five meters of the entrance to a public building.  The fines start at 50 dollars for a first offence rising to 500 dollars for the fourth and future offences.

             

Council approved the 2017-18 Whitney Forum fee schedule with the rates remaining the same as the past year.  They also approved the Recreation fee schedule with an increase in fees of four percent except Camp Whitney and the Tourist Bureau which remain the same as last year.

             

Council also approved their annual payment to the Manitoba the Crime Stoppers Program at 10 cents per capita or $518.50 for 2018 and Mayor Cal Huntley introduced the city’s new Treasurer Lyn Brown who replaces Glenna Daschuk who have moved to Municipal Administrator.
