The Flin Flon School Board Heard About a Very Active School Division Last Night.

 Kevin Lamoureux at Hapnot Collegiate

Superintendent Constance McCleese reported the recent speaking engagement by Kevin Lamoureux was extremely successful for the staff and students as well as the public in attendance.  Today the Division staff will be meeting for a steering committee to discuss ways to work First Nations education into the teaching curriculum.

A home reading outreach program is taking place Thursday at Ecole McIsaac School for parents.  There will be two free sessions on how you might read effectively to your children.  The first session is from 3 to 3:30 and again from 6:30 to 7 in the Library.

The Board recognized Katie Anderson for her commitment to the Culture Days events which students thoroughly enjoyed.  The Division will be receiving 25 hundred dollars once again this year from the Manitoba Government.  This money will assist with the costs for the students who have earned the privilege to attend the We Day event in Winnipeg on October 25th.
