The Flin Flon School Board met Tuesday night to Discuss the Upcoming School Year.

 

On the agenda were upcoming workshops for staff and administration.  A human rights workshop will be offered on October 5th for the school leadership teams and on September 19th the Manitoba Teachers Society and the Manitoba School Boards Association will host workplace safety and heath training.  The Board also reviewed a report on early childhood development, the high school graduation requirement letter, enrollment cap for international students letter, changes to the Department of Education and Training letter, an update from the Manitoba Association of Parent Councils and the safe and caring schools curriculum.  Today is the division’s new teaching staff orientation and September 5th is teacher professional development day with a BBQ, resource fair and Manitoba Teachers Society presentation on internet safety.  The first day of class for students is September 6th.  The next regular meeting of the School Board is September 12th.  The Board meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 9 Terrace Avenue at 7 pm and is open to the public.
