A Man Dedicated to Scouting was Honored Yesterday.

Jim Fell & Tom Heine

As part of Flinty’s birthday party Jim Fell was inducted to the Flin Flon Station Museum Wall of Honor yesterday afternoon.  Museum Board President Tom Heine say Fell is best known for his volunteer efforts in scouting.  He explained even before Fell came here he was involved in the Canadian scouting movement and he stayed with that for 60 years as a leader, scout master and then administrator organizing various activities, including jamborees both provincial, national and world jamborees so he was very committed to the scouting movement.

Heine says Fell was also a member of the HBM&S pipe band and a founding member of the Legion pipe band, was involved with his church and the Museum Board and has received several awards including the Manitoba Premier’s Volunteer Award, the Queen Elizabeth the Second Jubilee Medal and for scouting the Silver Acorn Award and the Canadian Baden Powell Recognition Medal among others.
