The Journey For Hope Walk held in Winnipeg supports the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society and its free programs and services. Flin Flon’s Ray Berg is going door to door in our community to collect pledges to support the Walk. He explains there’s a lady Katrina who is the supervisor for the event and she will be doing the walk for him and he will be collecting pledges up here for her. He adds he’s got about 3100 dollars and last year he had 3850 dollars and his girl friend in Winnipeg got 550 for a total of 4400 and they got first place.
Berg encourages people to have cash on hand when he comes to your door. He says anyone pledging 20 dollars or more will receive a tax receipt from the Schizophrenia Society. The Journey For Hope Walk takes place Saturday, September 16th starting at the Forks in Winnipeg.
