Flin Flon Parks and Recreation’s Summer in the Parks program is completing its first month. Supervisor Tristan Barteski says it’s been a fun summer so far with highlights on Nature Week, Gigantic Games Week and Animal Week this week and next week is their Water Week so they’ll be doing a lot of water activities and now that the Aqua Center is opening they’ll be going there, they have plans to go out to Denare Beach and they will be at the splash pad and wading pool. He adds after that they have the Super Heroes Week which will involve going up to the Fire and Police Departments to do tours, and then they have Outer Space Week and they end off with one of their favorites Holiday Week in which they’re introducing a new day St. Patrick’s Day and as always they’ll have their Halloween Day, Christmas day and their Birthday Celebration Day.
Summer in the Parks runs until August 25th on week day afternoons from 12 to 5 for children 5 to 9 years old. For information or to register call the Recreation office at 204-681-7542 or 271-3206.
