The Northern Gateway Museum in Denare Beach held their annual Discovery Day yesterday. Their Board Chairperson Penny Morissette says they have some new displays this summer including one by Elaine Angelski who has assembled a pictorial display of Beaver City with a few photos of the original settlement down by the Main Beach. She says one of their new artifacts is a mortar and pestle used by Tom Creighton when he was exploring this area and Steve Shtuka has added pictures of the Denare Beach Fire Department to their existing display.
Morissette adds they have had quite a few films and photos donated over the years so they are going to have a special showing this fall. The date for that will be in the Denare Beach newsletter or on their website www.northerngatewaymuseum.com. The Northern Gateway Museum is open daily from 11 to 7 until the end of August.
