The School Board Reported on Their Research into a Building Purchase.

At a recent meeting the Flin Flon School Board faced questions from two concerned citizens regarding the purchase of Saint Mary’s Church.  Tuesday night the Board and Division Maintenance Supervisor Brent Osika answered those concerns.  The Board has consulted with many professionals like the City’s Building inspector, the Fire Department, Health Inspector as well as multiple certified tradesmen. Some minor repairs will need to be addressed but no major renovations are required. The Board in conjunction with the Food Bank hopes to be able to utilize the building to its full potential by the fall.

In other news the Board passed a motion regarding the planning of the next Hapnot Travel Club destination as presented by Daniel Dillon on April 11th.  Superintendent Constance McCleese in her report gave praise to the recent Canadian Parents For French evening which was accompanied by what she called a spine tingling performance from the Aurora Borealis Chamber Choir and others.
