Slow Down in School Zones.

The Citizens on Patrol Program or COPPS continues to assist the RCMP in Flin Flon.  Their Chairperson Sinclair James says they have been monitoring speeds in the community and are concerned about school zones.  He says they want to emphasize that the speed in school zones is 30 kilometers an hour from September to June, Monday to Friday from 8 to 5. He says they’ve had a lot of excessive speeding in Flin Flon from 14 to 29 percent and up to 45 percent in school zones.

James says COPPS will be part of a province wide Speedwatch program with MPI on May 6th.  They now have 31 members and are always looking for new members.  If you are interested you can go to their website www.citizensonpatrol.mb.ca or call 204-271-4881.
