The Chamber Will Support The Need for Bus Service in Saskatchewan.

At their meeting yesterday the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce agreed there is a need for bus service in Saskatchewan.  They will contact Creighton Mayor Bruce Fidler to see how they can support his efforts to save STC bus service.  The Saskatchewan government is cutting the bus service across the province at the end of May.

The Chamber was advised the Flinty Statue at the Tourist Park needs some repairs and painting.  They will llook into the project and will contact the City.

They were also advised a conference for northern Chambers planned for Thompson has been postponed to the fall.  President Dianne Russell says her plan when becoming President was to have meetings with other northern Chambers and would still like to ensure that happens.

Discussions continue on ideas to help celebrate this summer’s Homecoming.  It was suggested businesses decorate following a theme for that weekend.  They are also looking for a Flinty volunteer and assistant for that weekend. Russell who is also on the Main Street Committee reported Saturn rides will be here for Homecoming and they are planning for Canuck Amusements to be here with their rides in May as a fund raiser to support the Trout Festival.
